Why 120?

The number 120 comes from the 120-hour standard to become a certified HazMat Technician — a symbol of elite-level preparation. But it goes deeper:

120 HOURS – HazMat Certification
120 DAYS – Real transformation
120 MINUTES – Crew development
120 SECONDS – Fireground command decisions

“120 is a standard, not a statistic. It’s how you train, how you lead, and how ready you are — body, mind, and mission.”

“I created The 120 Standard to sharpen the fire service — physically, tactically, and mentally. If you’re building a stronger crew, it starts with you.”

Jordan Symonds, Founder

Who is Jordan Symonds?

Jordan Symonds is a career firefighter, HazMat Technician, and former gym owner who’s spent the last decade building strength, leading crews, and showing up sharp when it counts.

He’s not a theorist — he’s lived the job: on shift, in smoke, under load, and under pressure. From fireground command to technical decon, from 4 a.m. medicals to 150 km bike rides — he trains like it matters and leads like it counts.

The 120 Standard is his answer to mediocrity. It’s built for those who refuse to coast, who hold the line, who build culture, and who want to be ready for anything.
